Arcade Light Switch

I NEED THIS LIGHT SWITCH!!!! As addicted to fighting games, like Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, as I am, I definitely would enjoy this. This gives a lil twist to the regular light switch, something more fun then just on and off. And for $35, that's not bad if you think of the cost of the arcade buttons and the casing. Today's Inspiration

Today's inspiration comes from Artist Sahirkhan.  He has a lot of abstract images like this on the site.  It is an interesting view point on portraits, I know it's nothing new, but I still enjoy it.  I like the watercolor effect, there is actually a tutorial out there on abduzeedo.com that walks you through these steps.  I've made a simliar image by following the tutorial.  There is good use of values in this image, I love the small splash of red he has.  Gives the eyes something to look at rather then all the black/white, breaks up the different values more.

H.A.M. Mixtape

Today we have a horrible mixtape from Hitmakah.  I almost have no words for this, the title isn't even THAT bad, bad but not as horrible as the lil mini - midget stacks of dollars LOL  I also don't know with what camera they took the pictures, but they have different resolutions and different quality pics, which as a whole makes it look worse.

Today's image is from artist andric ( andric.biz ).  He has a lot of images like this, where the containers are transparent.  It is a very interesting way of looking at different things.

Here is another image for today, I really love the new idea of using QR Codes as art and in art. I have been working on some ideas of my own. Here, is a picture of two people facing the opposite ways, try and scan the QR code to see the secret message to put the whole art piece together. This was done by Miguel Manzur

Today's Inspirtation

Today's inspiration is from a graffiti artist, whose style I've been practicing to try and develop my own style.  The artist that created this is named SheOne  - blackatelier.com .  He also works with another artist , O.Two, who also does this style.  This style to me always makes me think of a Neo Action Painting, looks like chaos and splatters like Jackson Pollock, but don't with spray paint.  You can also see the graffiti roots, as planned chaos and not just splatters.  Most of the art work in this style from SheOne is done in black and white, this one particularly stood out to me with the bright pink color.  I am currently working on a similar painting to hang in my living room.  Will keep you all updated on that progress.

Hello!  Here is Today's Inspiration, since the recent X-Men First Class movie and I still seem to be addicted to Marvel vs Capcom 3 for Xbox Live (NuJerseyKing for those who play), it seemed right to put this adorable magneto up.  This illustration is just amazing, I especially like the glare and highlights on his helmet, and I noticed after staring at the image, if you look at the left of Magneto's head you can see his toy chest.  In his chest it what looks like Captain America's shield and Thor's Hammer.  Great picture! :D Art done by Victor Hugo Queiroz.

Today's Inspirtation

To celebrate the recent release of Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (SSFIV AE) I thought I would post a picture of this beautiful fighter Ibuki.  As a personal gamer myself, I first started with Blanka in Street Fighter 4, then I found this glorious ninja.  She has some sneaky moves and great combos.

Anyways, I love the darkness of this image.  I think there is good direction in this piece, alot of up motion with the blood and splatters, then you meet Ibuki's legs and follow her back down to bring you full circle.  I also like the background gradient, the light colors directly behind Ibuki lightens it up a bit from all the dark colors.  I found this image on DeviantArt.com By harliskudo

Watch the Throne

Watch the Throne, the new collaboration album from Jay-Z and Kanye West, finally has a release date.  The Source magazine has reported the release date for July 4th.  With H.A.M. being the only single from the album to this date, I am still convinced this album will be amazing.  I will definitely  be online getting the digital download or at the store if there is some extra bonus for getting the CD.  Will keep you updated if any more information comes up.  The album is defiantly coming out soon, we all know this because Jay has gone back to the barber and has a clean cut.  During his new album project, he usually grows his hair out, and wears specific shirts to get in his "Biggie mode" to spit hot FIYA!  And then he usually cuts his hair and goes back to looking fresh after the album is complete. 

H.A.M. Mixtape

And here is the second submission of Lil Wayne for today.  This is the flip side of when graphics go wrong from the last post I had.  In this mixtape cover, the artist did the worst job I think he could think of when trying to manip Wayne and Gucci. I'm also completely confused about the random light effects.  The typography in this cover just hurts my eyes way too much, I can't even critique it...smh LOL  Also, I found this cover from vladTV and I just noticed, the artist even spelt Gucci's name wrong, isn't it suppose to be Gucci MANE! not Mayne? smh......again

Today's Inspirtation

I thought today would be double Lil Wayne day.  I came across this mixtape on mixtapekings.com and love the theme and manips.  I also like the "cartoon effect" done to lil wayne.  It seems the artist got a lil lazy with the characters in the back, they are not the focal point so its not too distracting, but if you study them enough you can see a few errors but nothing big.  The Typography is great, not sure if he just copied Brutal Legend logo or created from scratch, if created, then this also looks amazing.  But can I expect anything less from Miami Kaos?

Today's image is from an artist named David Walker.  I think he has some of the most amazing portraits, and they're painted with spray paint.  I love the realism of the women and the abstract and splatter paint.  Makes me want to practice drawing with spray paint. : D  You can find more of his art at http://artofdavidwalker.com/

Kanye West IS a Monster in this video....and we love it

Today's art comes from Kanye West.  He released the official video of his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy single “Monster” on his site kanyewest.com  The Jake Nava-directed visual co-stars Rick Ross, Jay-Z & Nicki Minaj in different locations in a hauted mansion filled with dead model zombies, with Nicki Minaj in a little dominatrix scene. With normal Kanye work, he is stirring up some controversy over this video.  As you will see, there is a warning message in the beginning of the video, this is just art and should be taken as such.  Hope you enjoy the video, leave your comments what you think of this video.

Today's Inspiration

Everyday I will be posting a new image that is inspiring or just truly amazing.  I found this image on http://www.behance.net and lately I've been drawn to galaxy and space art.  I like the color usage with the purple and teal colors, a lot of negative space on the bottom, but with the pyramid in the center and glowing, the negative space isn't much of a distraction.  What do you all think of this image?
